Before you vote, I'd like you to read this article. Smiley

http://news.mmosite.com/content/2008-07-04/20080704010344430.shtml

I know since most of us are die-hard fans of Diablo here, like me, I decided to make a poll about this topic.

For me, I kinda' agree with the petition. I really didn't like the new art direction of Diablo 3, it seems like it was pulled of from World of Warcraft, which in my opinion, I didn't liked much. I'd go for the old, gothic feel diablo 1 and 2 gave with less colors and with more darkness and shadows.

PS:
Lol, sorry I had to copy the site's poll options. Mas maganda kung dito nalang tayo mag-vote heheh, para makita natin kung ano ang reaction ng pinoy gamers. Cheesy

Would agree the graphics is somewhat WoW, but just as long as they retain the Diablo gameplay we all love, then its still a great game for me. Wag lang nila gagawing parang WoW. Sad

I say just let the "masters" work on it! They know what they're doing. I don't think they asked the fans what they like when they made Diablo 1 and 2. And if it turns out bad, e di sa Diablo 4 na lang sila bawi! Hehehe...

I agree with sir maxxx, just as long as the core gameplay is good, everything's good! graphics are only eye-candy!

Those petitioner's are just whiners, blizzard already said that they wont change their art direction they wanted to make the outdoors more vibrant to look at instead of dull and boring, repetitive environment of the previous diablo games. The lead designer also said that it will get darker as the game progresses so that will satisfy those people that wanted game to be dark..
Those mini boss have those fatalities now its more bloodier, the detail of the level is really really good if you've watch those hi-res trailer and you cant find that in WOW..

The problem is the "masters" that made the 1st two diablo games no longer work for blizzard.
At least that what I heard/read.

I appreciate the intention of the game designer. But I have my own taste naman kasi on the game because I've played the previous two games ng Diablo. Its true na parang WoW-ish siya, and in some part a bit like Neverwinter Nights 1 also. Less color emphasis on the game, which means more light and shiny color. What makes the previous 2 games appealing is the atmosphere kasi eh, yung tipong matatakot ka pag sa gabi mo nilalaro at ikaw na lang ang gising. In that way the game immerses you in-which is better. But we don't know for Diablo3 until it comes on our HD. That darky aspect could've been a double plus to the game. omg

Yup, that's what I was hoping for. I remember when I played Diablo I for the first time (and this is why I really liked it) was when I was approaching the room where the Butcher is.. well I can feel I was sweating all over (lol). Anyway, that was perfect.

Hanggat hindi pa na rerelease ang D3 eh pwede pa naman ma configure settings eh. Kaya nga nila pinakita para malaman ang reaction ng fan-based world community about sa product nila. Parang free taste ba sa supermarket. thumbup

Regarding the color palette issue of Diablo 3, I think this article I found is a good read:

http://www.gamespot.com/news/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=26519817

I truly agree with the last few posts about how the original Diablo games really evoked fear in the player. I can definitely relate to those nights, playing Diablo 1 by myself at night when everyone was asleep while the darkness of night peered through the window near my computer and the eerie moonlight shining through the skylight in our old house. Really creepy stuff. Scariest moment was during another late night gaming session, when I was entering the first level of hell, the sheer atmosphere really creeped me out to the point I just stopped playing for the night!

Let's hope Diablo 3 lives up to the standards that Diablo 1 & 2  have established already. Until then I shall reserve any judgement for a game that hasn't come out yet.  icon_rock

Wow nice story there futs22...

Tapos na ang blizzcon 2008, may hands on demo dun ng diablo 3 and all of the players are impressed because of the smoothness and the detailed environments of d3.

A compilation of hands on impression by the people that have played the d3 demo.. I got it @diablofans.com

WarCry network:

    * Diablo III is going to be a masterpiece.
    * This is not "isometric World of Warcraft." This game is a Diablo game through and through.
    * ...the fears that Diablo fans might have had about the direction of the game's art and style are wholly and completely unwarranted.
    * ...total of nine skills and abilities are at the players' fingertips at any one time.
    * Environmental destruction is a fun new part of Diablo II
    * D3 would live up to its legacy and the Blizzard name

Gamespot:

    * enemies are using a variety of different tactics.
    * lots of environmental objects that we could interact with.
    * One of the high points of the demo was undoubtedly the soundtrack, which was suitably creepy
    * The wizard is the only class that runes had been implemented for in the Blizz-Con demo

Mike Fahey

    * Remember that excited feeling you got when you first killed a monster in the original Diablo? How you knew that this was going to be a game that ate a great deal of your life? And then Diablo II came out, and it was pretty much the same feeling as Diablo I, only updated for the computer systesm of the day, somehow maintaining the same level of excitement and fun as the original? Well I've just gotten a chance to play through a half hour of Diablo III, and damn if I don't have that same giddy feeling all over again.
    * The monsters come in waves, dying with that characteristically satisfying feel of all Diablo games. They do an excellent job of making you feel like you're causing the damage directly.
    * Skill Runes ... It's a very ambitious system that I cannot wait to see more of.
    * It's got upgraded graphics, a new leveling system, and some new classes, but this is still Diablo, and that has never been a bad thing.

Earnest Cavalli

    * In Diablo III, the focus is on instant action.
    * ...each character is essentially going to be the same at similar levels, but based on the short time I spent with the new skill trees, there is plenty of room for crafting your unique avatar.
    * Graphically and aurally, the game displays Blizzard's typical high level of polish.
    * One key superficial addition Blizzard has added is select deformable terrain within the dungeons.
    * 20 min of gameplay ... It's far from enough time to gurantee that Diablo III is yet another hit, but for what it's worth the game now tops my list of most-anticipated upcoming titles.

By reading these comments, I'm sure that Diablo III surpass the previous diablo games and the demo is just a bit of what will come in d3..
It will be an EPIC masterpiece I'm sure of it!!
by the way WIZARD is the new class. Check it @ dialbo3.com
the model is asian nga pala. \m/
